It's summer again and a great lineup of bands is coming back to The Glen Town Center every Tuesday night beginning June 4th.
The Glen Town Center will host its summer-long “Summer Sounds” live music series featuring a great mix of blues, rock, funk, folk, jazz and reggae. The Glen Town Center will also provide fun crafts and interactive activities during each concert. This is a free event.

SHINDIG! A Tribute to the ‘60s, delivers a unique musical and visual trip through the diversely entertaining decade of the 1960s. The band is one of the most authentic '60s tribute bands in the Chicago area and features male and female vocal selections, complex harmonies and authentic arrangements and instrumentation.
Featuring songs by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Monkees, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Herman's Hermits, Cryan' Shames, The Mamas and the Papas, Sonny and Cher and a unique tribute to the best ‘girl groups’ of the decade, SHiNDiG! delivers "true to the originals" renditions of the 45's played on AM radio during this decade of great music. Tuesday, July 16 - Lise René - A mix of pop, rock, func and dance.

Lisa René embarks on a new phase of her career by releasing her debut CD, “The Eyes Have It” on her own record label, Vision One Records. With a mix of pop, rock, funk and dance, “The Eyes Have It” showcases Lisa’s versatile songwriting capabilities. Her songs feature endless melodies with countless hooks and her emotionally revealing lyrics speak of universal experiences, with an underlying theme of a search for truth. Her song “It All Trickles Down” was awarded Honorable Mention from the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Lisa joined forces with local guitarist, Marty Kuster - of the band “Tongue Bath”, on 12 of the tracks, and longtime friend and keyboardist, Gary Vlk - formerly of the bands “Shortcuts” and “The All Night News Boys”, on 1 track, in rounding out the musical arrangements of each song.

When you think The Jin and Tonic Band, think Lady Antebellum meets Sugarland meets Los Lonely Boys. In the vein of these great bands, The Jin and Tonic Band is set to take Chicagoland by storm. With their unique blend of three part harmonies and great musicianship, this band has had an incredible past few years. During that time they released their first all original CD, “Said Yes Once,” performed it to a packed Joe’s Bar, Chicago (May 21, 2010), and shared the stage with two of country music’s hottest acts: Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry.
They headlined at some of Chicago’s largest festivals and events, and entertained every size crowd. Their debut CD has been receiving rave reviews and is beginning to make people take notice. Tuesday, August 6 - Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band ~ Beach Music for Everybody!

Island, warm weather, and beach music with variety for everybody, and enough Buffett music to please the Parrothead crowd. The Beach Bum Band has traveled across the country performing on stage with Jimmy Buffett as his backup band for charity events from North Carolina to Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Since 2002, the Beach Bum Band has provided pre-show entertainment for Buffett Concerts at Tweeter Center in Illinois, Alpine Valley in Wisconsin, and Target Center in Minneapolis. From its Illinois base the band has made regular stops in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, the Carolinas and Margaritaville in Key West, Florida.

One Foot in the Groove is an eight piece rock band with a horn section. We’ve been performing at Chicago Bulls games since February 2000! Celebrating America’s classic rock heritage, this ensemble features a brass section to cover the songs of classic horn bands like Blood, Sweat and Tears, Chicago, The Ides of March, Tower of Power, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Blues Brothers and many more.

Tuesday, August 20 - The Rockin' Johnny Band - Vintage Chicago Blues plus Soul, swing and more!

The Rockin' Johnny Band has been one of Chicago's most loved blues bands since 1995. Their music has been played on WXRT's "Local Anaesthetic" and "Blues Breakers" radio shows, the band has often been featured at The Chicago Blues Festival, and they regularly work in Chicagoland's best blues clubs such as Buddy Guy's Legends. Their CDs and live performances have drawn great reviews in Living Blues, The Chicago Sun Times, Pioneer Press, and National Public Radio's "848".
Guitarist Johnny Burgin came to Chicago from South Carolina to attend the University of Chicago, and earned the name "Rockin' Johnny" as a DJ at the college radio station WHPK. Rockin' Johnny began playing in the ghetto clubs of Chicago's West Side with blues singer Taildragger, and then began touring nationally as a sideman with former Howlin' Wolf drummer Sam Lay and blues piano legend Pinetop Perkins.

Tuesday, August 27 - White Saddle - Returns to Summer Sounds with the best of country!

There is something to be said for life experience, especially in the world of country music. The best country groups become families after about a million miles of highway shared, the best songs are lived out sooner or later and the musicians and their fans feel like they know each other, because they actually do.
The White Saddle Band is one of these groups. Functioning as a unit since 1980, the band has played all across America’s heartland at clubs, concerts, festivals, private parties and any other event that requires the best of new and old country music infused at times with R&B, the blues and straight-no-chaser rock and roll. They have shared stages with some of country’s biggest names, including Asleep At the Wheel, Charlie Daniels, the Kentucky Headhunters, Alabama, Travis Tritt and many others. Their set list ranges from Kenny Chesney to Keith Urban, from Merle Haggard to Toby Keith, and from Elvis to Jimmy Buffett, with the occasional original tune thrown in for fun.
